Mixing FAQ
Export
Export all tracks as at least 24-bit WAV using the sample rate of your project (usually 44.1/48 kHz).
Start & End Point
Make sure all tracks are exported from the same start and end point.
Volume & Panning
Keep all volume and panning settings exactly as they are in your rough mix. Do not normalize.
Effects
• Include all important effects that should remain in the final mix.
• If unsure, send the tracks with and without effects.
• If your rough mix already contains distortion, pitch correction, Autotune, delay, reverb, filter automation, or similar effects that you want to keep, make sure to include them.
Autotune & Pitch Correction
It’s usually best to keep Autotune applied to your raw tracks unless you prefer manual pitch correction with Melodyne. If that’s the case, please include your Autotune settings (e.g., as a screenshot) when sending your tracks.
Instrumental & Vocals
If your instrumental and vocal tracks come from different studios, first import them into a single project and check if everything is in sync and correctly arranged before exporting.
Limiter on the Master Bus
If you have a limiter or any “loudness” plugin on the master bus, disable it before exporting.
Reference / Rough Mix
Please also send your rough mix. Additionally, if you have a specific sound in mind, you can include a Spotify or YouTube link to a song that matches the style you want for the mix.
